Christmas is my favorite holiday because it is the time of year for loving, giving, and
remembering who this holiday is for (Jesus). It is the time of the year everyone should
spend with their family and friends loving them unconditionally.
When I lived in Brazil, we gathered at my mother's house around a large
decorated tree and a table full of food every year. Always with lots of joy, laughter, and good stories. This
will be my second year spending Christmas here in the USA, and I always make a point of having
my brothers by my side. My wife and I prepared a Christmas dinner with the foods we liked the
most (Turkey, pork shank, potato mayonnaise, rice, sweet farofa, and the famous pudding for
dessert). Even though our parents were physically distant, we spent most of the night with them
on the phone. My wish is that next year, we can have my parents at the table with us.
